Most Frequently Asked Questions
What is jerky and what is it made from?
Jerky is a high-protein snack made from thin strips of lean meat that are marinated, seasoned, and slowly dried to lock in flavour and nutrients. We carefully select only the finest quality ingredients to ensure every piece is tender, delicious, and packed with natural protein.
Does jerky need to be refrigerated?
No – as long as the package remains unopened, jerky can be stored at room temperature until the “Best by” date. The shelf life of our products is 365 days.
What is the small sachet inside the pack?
It’s an oxygen absorber (“Do Not Eat”) that helps keep the product fresh and extends its shelf life.
What is the shelf life after opening?
Once opened, we recommend consuming the product within 3–7 days. When stored in the fridge or a cool place, it will stay fresh for longer.
Why do some jerky pieces have white spots or crystals on them?
That’s perfectly normal – these are just natural salt crystals that can form on the surface of the meat during drying. They’re a sign of a properly dried, high-protein product and do not affect the quality or taste of the jerky.
What should I do if I notice mould or signs of spoilage?
If you notice such an issue, it’s likely that the package has a microscopic seal defect that allowed oxygen to enter, causing mould to develop. Since we don’t use preservatives or antibiotics, we recommend checking the product through the front window before purchase. If you ever find something unusual, please contact us immediately– we’ll replace the product right away and send the affected batch for analysis.
